Welcome, and thanks for checking out the how to draw a bed tutorial. This is your standard twin bed, nothing fancy but looks good enough to sleep in.😴 As always, use the principles learned in this drawing and practice different styles and types of beds. Happy drawing!

How to draw a bed

Step 1

The next few steps will be mapping out our underdrawing. Keep things light and loose and always keep and eraser handy. This is the most important stage of any drawing.

OK so the underdrawing is done, let trace our lines in a nice dark ink and get rid of that underdrawing.

Now let’s block in our main colour.

Continue blocking in all the main background colours. We will be adding highlights and shadows next.

Take a version of your main colour (in the case of the pillow and sheets) and darken it a bit. Use that for the shadows.
